This amazing activity on the Korean War utilizes incredibly hard-to-find documents from a rare North Korean museum guidebook to analyze the Korean War from North Korea’s viewpoint!
These images and documents give a fascinating insight into the hyper-propagandistic perspective of North Korea and why the current regime is so antagonistic toward the United States.
With the current tension over Kim Jong-un’s threats and missile tests, this is a wonderful resource for you to use in your classes!
Included in this one download are:
- A 2 page worksheet for students to use
- One page of directions and suggested lesson extension activities
- 20 pages of documents from the “Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum” in Pyongyang, North Korea (DPRK)!
The “Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum” in Pyongyang is entirely dedicated to showing how North Korea "humiliated" the United States in a crushing defeat. It covers over 500,000 square feet, with 18 halls of 80 showrooms all on the “Fatherland Liberation War”.
This is a rare opportunity to get a glimpse of an entirely different perspective of US or World History and a truly a fascinating lesson. The activities can be adapted for AP or IB classes down through traditional middle school students based on the suggested extensions and included resources!
